He came to it as an engineer, looking for the tomb of Genghis Khan without putting a spade in the ground, and has spent the twenty years since going a long way out and bringing back what he found. National Geographic Explorer, host of Lost Cities, Welcome to Earth and dozens of other documentaries, youngest recipient of the Explorers Club's Lowell Thomas Medal. His own work on pain and the mind led him to co-found the Center for Psychedelic Research at UC San Diego. Outside ran a cover story on him in 2025.

The visual signature across the slate, and Albert's co-director. Shoots and cuts the films as well as directing them. Founded 1Z Media, a documentary and branded content company in San Diego, in 2015, shooting for ASUS, Polaris, Blundstone, TAXA Outdoors and Go Fast Campers alongside his documentary work. Directed Iceland: The Realm of Magic and the Cayambe film in Ecuador, shot The Barrel Project, co-directed and cut The Boy and the Butterfly, and co-directs TEBO1.
